Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
• Database Administration: – Install, configure, and maintain IBM DB2 databases on Linux, Unix, and Windows platforms.
• Perform routine database backups, restores, and ensure data recovery procedures are in place.
• Monitor and optimize database performance by analyzing query execution, system resources, and making adjustments as necessary.
• Maintain database security by managing user access, encryption, and authentication.
Performance Tuning:
• Analyze and improve DB2 performance by tuning SQL queries, indexing strategies, and database configurations.
• Perform database health checks and recommend improvements for system performance and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues, including slow queries, locking, and other bottlenecks.
Database Design & Development:
• Design and implement DB2 database structures, including tables, indexes, and views.
• Work closely with development teams to design and implement database solutions, ensuring they are scalable and performant.
• Write, review, and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures.
